Rothesay Pavilion has taken its next step towards becoming a top cultural tourist destination for Scotland, and a local jobs provider for Bute.

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute Council has hailed the arrival of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in Oban earlier this summer as a roaring success and councillors have agreed to consider a proposal to make a bid for the event to return to the town in 2026.

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute Council remains committed to its position that a permanent solution must be found for issues at the Rest and be Thankful as swiftly as possible.

The latest round of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute Council’s Strategic Events and Festivals Fund opens for applications on Monday 7 October.

A new Community Hub in Kilcreggan opens on 1 October, making it easier for residents to access a range of council resources and information.

Fourteen community projects in ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute have received a share of £365,000 from the Scottish Government's Community-Led Local Development Fund (CLLD).

Helping to sustain small businesses and community organisations, making ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute more investor-ready, and improving the area’s towns and villages as places to live, work and visit - these are just some of the benefits from £45 million of investment secured by ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute Council.

Council measures to encourage and expand the use of Gaelic are continuing to deliver benefits for young people and communities across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute.

Priorities and plans are already set out to keep ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute open for business over the coming winter and these were approved by the council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure committee on 12 September.

Households across ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ and Bute are doing their bit to help save money, protect services and support climate-friendly measures by recycling, but recent studies by Zero Waste Scotland show we could all still do a bit more.
